Equipment Exchange

Fairfax Little League

Fall 2019 Equipment Exchange

Saturday, August 24th

10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Thaiss/Pickett Field Picnic Tables

Rain or Shine

We invite all Fairfax Little League families to join us for our Fall 2019 Equipment Exchange.

The Fairfax Little League Equipment Exchange is the place to exchange gently-used baseball equipment and clothing - gloves, batting helmets, catcher’s gear, cleats (size 8 or smaller, no metal cleats, please), pants (no adult sizes), belts, socks, equipment bags, etc. Bring your too-small equipment and clothing and swap it for the right size and color.

You don’t need to bring anything to participate and there is no cost.

We just ask once you child has outgrown something, your family “pays it forward” so another young ballplayer may benefit from our Exchange.

**Please note, only bats stamped and certified with the new USABat Standard will be accepted at our Equipment Exchange.**

If you can’t make it on August 24th, don’t worry. Exchanges can be made anytime on the ‘Fairfax Little League Equipment Exchange’ page on Facebook

Umpire Registration Now Open

Last Call for New Umpires

New Umpires - This is the last call for new umpires.  Training for new umpires will be held on August 25 starting at 1:00pm at Thaiss Park.  If you are 12 or older and interested in umpiring games this fall, you must register on the website and attend this training.  The training will run until approximately 5:00pm and will include classroom rules training and field mechanics.

Returning Umpires - If you are planning to umpire games this fall, please register on the website.  Field mechanics training will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 at Thaiss Park on Sunday August 25.  Please plan to attend that training.  Field mechanics are critical to improving as an umpire (and moving up to umpire higher level games).

Volunteer Adult Umpires - if you are interested in becoming a volunteer adult umpire (and we really need some volunteer adult umpires), please register and attend the training on August 25.  This is different than the parent umpire training.

If you have any questions, please email me at .

2019 Fairfax NL 8/9 Minors Champs

Congratulations to Fairfax National's 8/9 tournament team, which won the 8/9 Special Minors championship! The team went undefeated through the four games, and never trailed during the tournament. The championship game was hard fought, going into extra innings before Fairfax National scored three runs in the top of the 7th to win 6-3 over CYA. This is the second year in a row that the Fairfax National 8/9 team won its tournament.  Coach Matt Oliveri, has now lead his team to victory in this tournament in back to back seasons! The Special Minors tournaments are composed of primarily Little League AAA players playing against other teams from across Little League District 10, and were created to give players and coaches experience playing in a Little League-style tournament to gain experience for future Majors tournaments.

FxLL Free Nat's game July 7

As your spring season winds down we invite you to celebrate another great Little League season at a Nationals baseball game! As a member of Team UP, we are once again providing a free ticket day for your athletes.

Sunday, July 7 at 1:35 p.m. vs. Kansas City Royals

As a reminder here are the particulars for District 10 Little League Day:

Who is eligible?

  1. Only kids that have finished the season as a member of District 10 Little League are eligible.
  2. Official District 10 Little League team coaches

How many tickets are given to each Nationals Team UP player?

Two free tickets per District 10 Little League player and District 10 Coach.

What do I have to do to get my free Nationals Team UP tickets?

Players MUST wear their Nationals provided jersey or T-shirt to the ballpark in order to receive their tickets.  Kids that show up without their Nationals Uniform will not receive tickets–no exceptions.  Coaches MUST wear their Nationals issued coaches’ cap.  Without the cap, tickets will not be given-no exceptions.

How do I get my tickets?  Where and when do I go to get my tickets?

  • Tickets are only available for pick up on the day of the game, Sunday, July 7.
  • Tickets are available beginning at 10:30 a.m.
  • The ticket distribution location is outside of the Home Plate Gate Entrance located on the corner of South Capitol St. SE and Potomac Avenue SE.

Can I get my tickets in advance or have them held for me?

No, the tickets are only available beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 7.

Can teams sit together?  Can we reserve tickets for sitting together as a team?

No, advance reservations are not available.  Youth players may have an opportunity to secure tickets together as a team if they arrive together or meet up at the ballpark and get in line together.

Where are the seating locations of the free tickets?

The tickets will be located throughout the ballpark in various levels and sections.  The exact location of the tickets distributed to you will not be known in advance.  All tickets and seating locations are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I get extra tickets for family members?

No more than two free tickets will be given to any single youth player.  There are ticket windows located at the ticket distribution point, where additional tickets may be purchased.  The complimentary tickets and the purchased tickets may not be seated together but the Nationals will make every attempt to seat families as close together as possible.
